so i finally went back to the sunday meeting after missing it for over a month.
i've been to the tms/service meeting a couple of weeks ago by the way, but i've consistently missed the one for sunday.. i dreaded going, but i think i will go to the sunday meetings every couple of weeks for a while.
between my dad and another factor, i think it will be best to go that route for a while.

a coworker and friend whose family are jw went to the district convention with his jw wife and kids.. he said that about the only thing he got out of friday's session was this hilarious statement in the title.. here's the story-.

If I were in the audience, I'd probably awake from my coma to laugh at this one.

i find it interesting reading posts from ex-witnesses or those that are slipping away and yet the terminology is still brain-washed into us.
i mean, i've managed to stop using the terms myself.
sometimes i might catch myself using the term "the truth" or "brother" or "sister", but i quickly correct myself.. the fact is for me, as much as i agree with a lot of their values and beliefs, those people were not my "brothers and sisters" nor was the organization "the truth".
Let us not forsake the posting her together to insight one another to love and fine works.

The last decade that I stayed trapped, I couldn't bring myself to talk-the-talk. I found it embarrassing and was sick of it. How many years are you supposed to keep using the same stupid words and phrases over and over again. Especially the ones that were supposed to be substitutes for how normal people describe things.

I don't think it will be any different with the current book. They will use Jesus as a stepping-stone to advance their cause as usual.
I agree. I have noticed over the last few years that they need to keep up with the competition of other religions and the emphasis on Jesus. They will use Jesus pictures and lingo as a stepping stone, then convince bible studies to think otherwise about his importance.
well folks, got back from my trip to see russell's grave site.
it was quite a interesting experience and sobering to see the pyramid right by his tombstone.
i'm kind of tired and will be hitting the sack soon but i wanted to post a few pictures.

From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained. I don't have it in front of me, but I think the book came out around 1958. I still remember seeing that lovely picture.
I remember seeing it too. I was about 10 years old and it really scared me into believing the Borg so I wouldn't get killed.
